Japan slaps sanctions against Sberbank, Alfa-Bank, bans new invest
TOKYO, Apr 12 (PRIME) -- Japan has introduced sanctions against Russia’s Sberbank and Alfa-Bank to freeze their assets and ban all the transactions, and has prohibited all new private equity investment in Russia over the situation in Ukraine, the state’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Japan also imposed additional sanctions against 28 companies and organization in Russia and 398 individuals, including Maria Vorontsova and Katerina Tikhonova, referred to as daughters of President Vladimir Putin, and the wife and the daughter of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Maria Lavrova and Yekaterina Vinokurova.
